When my nephew graduated from high school and was college bound I bought a huge laundry basket and filled it with the small things he needed like: laundry detergent, soap, batteries, a few school supplies, a roll of quarters, toiletries, a family photo, a calling card and a box of self addressed envelopes with stamps already.
